Hi,

I know that people who want to adopt a child do so with the best intentions, so I am not casting any aspersions against you but think you should be aware of what is happening in Ethiopia.

If you go to the Australian ABC web site and watch this evenings program about adopting children from Ethiopia. There are so called Christian organisations harvesting children for adoption, that means they pressure parents in bad circumstances to adopt out their children, most regret having done so and live a life of pain and suffering not knowing where their children are and how they are doing. There are also no child protection laws, Ethiopia not being a signatory to the United Nations and as such the best interest of the children are rarely considered.

I ask you to please watch the program at:

http://www.abc.net.au/foreign/content/2009/s2686908.htm

And reconsider adopting children from Ethiopia, if you want to help the children donate to a charity but don’t get involved in the appalling practice of harvesting children.

Hi. My husband and I are just in the beginning stages of looking into adoption from Ethiopia. We've contact Imagine and we're waiting to recieve our info package. We live in Ottawa. We're looking for a boy or girl between 0-2 years old... does anyone know approx. wait times for this? Also, does everyone like Imagine? Any problems? Thanks!
